Honorable Josephine Achiro Forteio is a Commissioner of the National Elections Commission. Hon. Achiro was sworn in on July 13, 2026.

Before her appointment Hon. Achiro worked in South Sudanese media. She was a senior editor at Radio Bakhita in Juba and later its Director. She was Executive Director of the Community Media Network (CoMiNet), where she trained young journalists working in community radio. She also served as Chairperson of the Association for Media Development in South Sudan (AMDISS). Hon. Achiro is a recipient of the Palm Prize.
