State/Administrative Area Returning Officer – 13 positions
The Returning Officer coordinates and supervises electoral operations in a State or Administrative Area: implementing the Commission’s electoral plans and directives; coordinating the recruitment, training and deployment of temporary election officials; voter registration, voter education and polling arrangements; the security and accountability of electoral materials; and the tabulation and reporting of results. There is one post in each of the ten States and three Administrative Areas, based at the State or Administrative Area headquarters, as permanent staff.
